lacrosse officials association

(GLALOA)

BECOME A GLALOA OFFICIAL

Requirements

Dear Prospective High School Lacrosse Official,   Thank you for your consideration to participate in “the fastest sport on two feet”. Boys lacrosse is a game of speed and skill, and the GLALOA requires its officials to have the physical capability and mental aptitude to keep up with the game's demands. Our organization has an intensive training regimen and new officials will be subject to a 2-year probationary period. Upon completion of the probationary period, each official will be evaluated and deemed qualified if that individual has proven to grasp the rules, concepts, and physical demands of the game.
Our training module consists of classroom sessions and on-field scrimmages that address lacrosse rules and game mechanics. We prepare our officials, experienced and non-qualified to handle game management smoothly.  Our goal is to have the players and schools compete on a level playing field with good sportsmanship and safety as our main objectives. We take these goals very seriously and strive for excellence each time we are on the fields.     Experience as a lacrosse player, coach, or prior officiating is preferable, but not required.

The 2019/20 known training dates are posted under "Training". To become a qualified GLALOA official you must:

--Join the GLALOA
--Join US Lacrosse
--Attend 18-20+ hours of annual training sessions

Annual dues:

--$50.00 for full members
--$25.00 for youth members (those under 18)
--$25.00 for affiliate members (are a full member in another CLOA Unit, i.e. SOCALOA)

Dues should be mailed to:

--GLALOA
